Determining what the best course of action is can sometimes be quite challenging, especially when you do not really know the pros and cons behind each choice. Often I am asked, "Is it better to go hourly or will I benefit more from taking the package discount?" This post was specifically written to assist those who want to make an informed choice. If your objective is to simply override a symptom, without learning self hypnosis or pursuing the root cause of your presenting issue(s), go with hourly. You will probably save more money, at least in the short-run. I find there is typically a 20-25% success rate in one two-hour session ($250), a 60-66% success rate in two 90-minute sessions ($380) and an 75-80% success rate in three 90-minute sessions ($570). If additional sessions are needed follow ups can be scheduled from $65 each. The only concern I have with this type of approach is that the results may be short lived, so occasional follow ups for maintenance are very possible.
If your objective is to become self empowered and explore the cause behind the symptom and/or learn self hypnosis go with the package. You can have it all in two 3-hour sessions, three 2-hour sessions or (recommended) four 90-minute sessions. The total cost is $675 and my clients have around an 88% success rate after 4 sessions. The success rate of the average Hypnotherapist goes up to 93% after 6 sessions. To date, with all sincere and serious Students of Hypnosis, I have successfully addressed all primary concerns in 6 or less sessions.
